Important Update Notice

For optimal experience and server compatibility, please download and install the latest updater. This update is essential to ensure all features function as intended.

Step 1: Download Prism Launcher

First, you'll need to download and install Prism Launcher, a clean and easy-to-use minecraft launcher.

Visit the official Prism Launcher website
•
Download the version for your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
•
Run the installer and follow the installation wizard

Step 2: Set Up Prism Launcher

Configure Prism Launcher with your Minecraft account and Java settings.

•
Open Prism Launcher and click 'Add Account'
•
Log in with your Microsoft/Minecraft account
•
Let Prism Launcher download and set up Java automatically

Step 3: Import Axolotl SMP Modpack

Add our custom modpack to your Prism Launcher.

•
Before proceeding, download the updater if you haven't already. (If you already have updater V1.5.0 – the latest release – you can skip this step.)

Download our modpack file.
•
In Prism Launcher, click 'Add Instance'.
•
Choose 'Import from zip' and select our modpack file.
•
Wait for the modpack to install. (This might take a few minutes.)
•
After importing, open the updater to complete the installation.

Step 4: Launch and Play

You're ready to join the server!

•
Double-click the Axolotl SMP instance in Prism Launcher
•
In Minecraft, click 'Multiplayer' and then 'Add Server'
•
Enter our server address: play.axolotlsmp.com

Having Issues?

Game crashes on startup

Make sure you have enough RAM allocated. Right-click the instance in Prism Launcher, select 'Edit', and increase the memory allocation to at least 8GB.

Low FPS or performance issues

Our modpack includes performance mods like Sodium. Press F3 to check if they're active. Try reducing your render distance if needed.

Can't connect to the server

Check that you're using the correct server address and that all mods are properly installed. The modpack should handle this automatically.

Missing textures or models

Try forcing an update of the modpack by right-clicking the instance and selecting 'Update'. This will ensure you have all required files.
